3. Truck-mounted cranes can have straight booms or folding booms. A straight boom means the boom is suspended above the cargo box, while a folding boom means the boom can be folded down, taking up very little space. Mobile cranes typically have telescopic booms, with the boom extending towards the front of the truck.
